Call for participation

The fast development of advanced manufacturing technology has witnessed the growing importance of mathematical methods and algorithms, ranging from algebraic geometry, discrete geometry and differential geometry to differential equations, computational mathematics and computer mathematics. Conversely, problems arising from the field of advanced manufacturing have also stimulated the development of such branches in pure and applied mathematics as computational geometry and mathematics mechanization.

Mathematics and Algorithms for Computer-Aided Manufacturing, Engineering and Numerical Control (MAMENC) is a new forum focusing on the interaction between the side of mathematical methods and algorithms, and the other side of computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), computer-aided engineering (CAE) and computer numerical control (CNC). MAMENC 2011,2012 were held in from October 24-26, 2011, 25-26, 2012 in Beijing. MAMENC 2013 is organized by the National Center for Mathematics and Interdisciplinary Sciences of China(NCMIS), and will be held in Beijing, China from October 24-25, 2013.

MAMENC 2013 forum concentrates on (but is not restricted to) the following topics:

1. Tool path planning and simulation

2. Geometric data processing

3. Interpolation for CNC controllers

4. Tool-radius compensation and error compensation for CNC controllers

5. Feature-based process chain with CAM/CNC coupling

6. Multiscale simulation

7. Online collision avoidance

You are welcome to submit an abstract or a paper to the workshop chair (hli@mmrc.iss.ac.cn) before September 25, 2013. All submitted abstracts and papers will undergo a review process by the organization committee and decision will be made as soon as possible.
